Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the AI Safety Assistant browser extension (“ShareSafe”, by VaultLM) does with your information. VaultLM is a European AI-privacy service. The extension helps you mask sensitive information before you send it to AI chat tools — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity.

What the extension does

On the supported AI sites, the extension inspects the message you are composing so it can help you catch and mask sensitive details before you send it. It runs only on those sites.

Processed on your device only

Credentials and secrets — API keys, passwords, tokens and similar — are detected and masked locally, on your device, and are never transmitted anywhere. Your settings (which sites are enabled, automatic or manual mode), local habit counters, and the short-lived “safe key” that lets you restore identities in a reply are stored locally in your browser.

Sent to our EU service

After secrets are removed locally, the remaining text of a message you choose to check or protect is sent to VaultLM’s servers (app.vaultlm.eu, hosted in the EU) for the sole purpose of detecting names and organisations and returning a masked version. Name detection is best-effort (measured around 87% recall), so the extension is a safety net — always review a message before you send it. The reversible mapping between a placeholder and the original is held under a key retained only as long as needed to let you restore identities, then it expires. This text is not used for any other purpose.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own use.
• We do not show advertising or use third-party trackers.
• We do not collect your browsing history or the content of pages other than the composer text you act on.

Data retention

Message text is processed transiently for masking; the associated reversible mapping expires according to our retention policy. Data the extension stores locally is removed when you uninstall it.

Your choices

You stay in control: enable or disable the extension per site, switch between automatic and manual checking, and remove it at any time to clear its local data. Masking is only ever applied when you choose to protect a message.
